Petrus Coetzee has been with Steelcon since 2012, starting as a draftsman and progressing into his current role as Operations Manager. With over 20 years of experience in the steel industry, he brings a comprehensive background that includes hands-on fabrication, technical drafting, software training, and operational leadership.
Petrus began his career in South Africa as a qualified boilermaker, before transitioning into structural steel drafting. In 2009, he relocated to Australia, where he worked in technical support and training for drafting software such as StruCad and Tekla Structures,
assisting fabricators and detailing teams in optimizing their workflows and adopting cutting-edge technology.
He later joined a local fabrication company as Drafting Manager, overseeing a team of detailers and ensuring seamless coordination between design and production to maintain project accuracy and efficiency. This role strengthened his leadership and project management skills, preparing him for more senior responsibilities.
At Steelcon, Petrus manages day-to-day operations, project execution, team leadership, and quality control. His pragmatic approach, combined with a solid technical background, has helped Steelcon maintain a reputation for delivering projects with exceptional precision and efficiency.
